Having the right kind of marketing literature can be a blessing or a curse. There are many people in the marketing game who are very adept at telling you about all the different kinds of marketing things you’ll need and why you need them, but those people are not always telling the truth. The real truth is that some people will try to sell you things that you don’t need and as a savvy consumer that’s started a small Internet business of your own, you’ll need to know what kinds of marketing literature are the best under what circumstances. 

 

Even if your business is focused on the Internet, there are several good reasons to have printed materials as well as electronic resources working for your advertising. Before you hire a web copywriter  or Internet Marketing firm, you’ll need to be wary of those unscrupulous salespeople who will convince you a brochure of the things you need even when it isn’t. As with most other things, it’s a good idea to have some knowledge about why you need a brochure or why it would be best if you didn’t get one.  To that end there are several clear indicators that you’ll need one. It’s best to get a brochure under the following circumstances.

 

When your prospects are likely to be contacted by the phone and may not have any Internet connection handy, it might be best to get them something printed like a brochure. A brochure is also useful when your company would benefit from a printed piece that goes in ahead of one of your sales representatives to either pave the way for a visit or answer any questions after the visit is over.

 

A brochure is also helpful when your service or product is complicated and involved details that your prospects would need to study to make an informed decision. You also need to ask yourself some other fundamental questions like can you afford it. You’ll need to be sure that you’ve allocated enough money for brochures and that you won’t need to take the money away from some other place to pay for them.

 

Remember too that you’ll need a distribution plan. It’s essential that you’ve got a good idea how you’re going to go about placing these brochures throughout target areas. It’d no good to have all this literature printed up if it just sits in a back closet gathering dust because you have no distribution plan.
